Prokaryotes are typically single cell organisms, while eukaryotes cells are cells contained within organisms. Eukaryotes and prokaryote cells contain very different components within the cell. Prokaryotes contain no membrane bound organelles, while eukaryotes cells do. Movement is also varied between the two types of cells.
However, one major difference is that, unlike prokaryotic DNA, eukaryotic chromosomes are wrapped around proteins called histones, to form a condensed form of DNA called chromatin. This tends to repress gene transcription, and several transcriptional activators have been found to function by relieving chromatin-induced repression.
The wave length (distance from crest to crest) varies between 1.5 and 5.0 miles and the crest lengths stretch across and beyond this photo for over 75 miles. At lower right, the surface waves are moving at a 30% angle to the internal waves, with parallel low level clouds.
Sep 29, 2019 · Longer in Eukaryote cells. Prokaryotic cell wall (e.g, bacteria) composed of mucopeptide (linear chains of alternating amino sugars) or peptidoglycan (polymer consisting of sugars and amino acids ). Eukaryote Cell wall is composed of cellulose; Peptidoglycan is absent.
Bacteria are prokaryotes. Prokaryotic cells possess simpler structures than eukaryotic cells, since they do not have a nucleus, other membrane bound organelles, or a cytoskeleton. Bacterial cells have two major compartments, the cytoplasm and cell envelope, and may also have exterior appendages, such as flagella or pili.
• Many replication bubbles present in eukaryotes, whereas no or few replication bubbles present in prokaryotes. • In prokaryotes, RNA acts as the primer whereas, in eukaryotes, either RNA or DNA acts as the primer. • DNA replication in eukaryotes takes place during the cell cycle, unlike in prokaryotes.
